On October 16th, 2024, Mayor Tom Richins proudly introduced the new members of the 2024-2025 Mayor’s Youth Council during the City Council meeting. This annual initiative brings together a group of dedicated high school students from across the city, representing various schools in Corona. These students are chosen to provide the youth perspective on local issues and to gain firsthand experience in civic leadership.
The new council members are:
- Centennial High School: Adarsh Gupta, Riteesh Settypalli, Minnah Shaikh
- Corona High School: Zoeya Mansoor
- Lee Pollard High School: Quianna Estrada, Camila Mitchell, Berlin Rivera
- Orange Grove: Miguel Teofilo
- John F. Kennedy High School: Angelica Luna
- Santiago High School: Ava Mathews, Jazlyn Magtajas, Ariya Nawabi, Jenny Paek, Hunter Trinh
Throughout the year, these students will engage with city officials and participate in various activities aimed at understanding the operations of the City of Corona. They will also have opportunities to meet with elected officials, discuss leadership, and explore civic engagement.
The Mayor’s Youth Council is an important platform that gives young people a voice in their community while equipping them with skills in governance and leadership. Through this program, members can make meaningful contributions while gaining valuable insights into local government.
