In a heartwarming moment of solidarity, firefighters from across Southern California came together to celebrate the remarkable recovery of one of their own, Corona Fire Battalion Chief Brandon Willson, who has officially beaten cancer.

The emotional celebration took place at the City of Hope Orange County Lennar Cancer Center in Irvine, where Willson was undergoing his final chemotherapy treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Firefighters from Corona, Orange City Fire, Huntington Beach, and other neighboring departments gathered in full uniform to surprise Willson with a powerful “clap-in,” cheering him on as he walked into the center.

With around 50 uniformed firefighters present, Willson was greeted by his wife, sons, and colleagues, all proud to support him on this significant milestone in his battle with cancer. The touching tribute was captured live on Good Day LA, bringing smiles, tears, and heartfelt emotions to everyone in attendance.

Willson’s fight against Hodgkin’s Lymphoma had rallied firefighters from various departments, highlighting the close-knit bond among first responders. The “clap-in” was a gesture of love, respect, and camaraderie, as the firefighting community stood united to mark Willson’s victory over cancer.
