STAFF REPORT
The town’s Vintage Home Tour, which is an event run by the Corona Historic Preservation Society, includes 5 pre-tour homes that the public can enter freely.
It is scheduled for May 11, Saturday, and has four houses and the residence of the Women’s Improvement Club in store. It will acquire the structures or buildings constructed from 1888 up to 1930.
Our self-paced tour is set to take place between 1 pm to 4 pm on the designated day.
As per a press release of the society, this subject is “Cherishing Our Past,” which means celebrating a famous motto of Corona: “To Cherish Our Past, to Plan Our Future.”
It is stipulated that one of these residential buildings is an 1888 house constructed originally in 1888 as a Victorian wood-frame cottage and later refurbished to a 1920s timber home. From 1924 to 1930, there were built two Mediterranean/Spanish Revival buildings inspired by a style that reflected traditional Spanish elements. One is a Victorian-style farmhouse porch with a circle around it and is built in 1892. As the Case Study declares, the clubhouse was built during 1913 using the Craftsman style of an expression of a Welsh chapel.
At every site, docents will be present in period costume to ensure the highest quality historical accuracy.
The essence of this grant program is the same as that of protecting historical sites; therefore, revenue from ticket sales goes to other district preservation efforts and is then given back to the community.
Comfortable shoes are the recommended option for visitors to wear. These facilities consist of three two-story buildings while every structure is the passage. Put a deadline stamp to it, whether rain or shine, it won’t wait to hold over for another day!
The discounted tickets of $30 are currently available on pre-sale. On the day of the event, the cost of enrollment will be $35. Tickets are on sale one day before the tour start date at sign up on 1052 E. Grand Blvd. Street.
