Corona-Norco Unified School District Board of Education Appoints New Superintendent

After completion of the approved search process, the Corona Norco Unified School District (CNUSD) Board of Education announced a decision to appoint Dalia GadElMawla as the new superintendent, pending the execution of a mutually acceptable employment agreement. Ms. GadElMawla has served with CNUSD for the past 10 years, most recently as the Deputy Superintendent of Business Services with a total of 17 years of experience in public education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business finance from California State University, Northridge, and a master’s degree in public administration from California Baptist University. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Azusa Pacific University. To view a more thorough bio please click here. The newly appointed superintendent will officially assume the role on July 2, 2025, ensuring a seamless and effective leadership transition from the retirement of current Superintendent Dr. Buenrostro. “As the district continues to build on its strong foundation of academic excellence and innovative programs, it is essential to have a leader who can provide steady, strategic guidance—especially during times of economic uncertainty,” said Board President Stacy Nicola. “We look forward to the continued growth and success of our schools under thoughtful and forward-looking leadership.” The transition period will provide the incoming superintendent with the opportunity to collaborate closely with Dr. Buenrostro, ensuring continuity in leadership, student success, and sustained progress on key district initiatives.
