Authorities in the Culver City region was looking into the death of a baby on the northbound 405 Freeway and attempting to ascertain whether she and another young girl who was hurt were struck by one or more cars.
Following a report of a traffic accident in the vicinity at approximately 4 a.m., the California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene around 3 a.m. near the Sepulveda Boulevard/Howard Hughes Parkway exit and discovered that two girls had been left on the road: a baby girl, who was thought to be 5 or 6 months old, and a girl, who was approximately 7 to 9 years old, who had been left on the right side of the road.
At the scene, the baby had passed away. The next girl, who had moderate wounds, required hospitalization, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP has asked to hear the community’s views on the potential factors that may have led to the incident.
“At this time, the minors who were on the highway are unknown to the authorities,” CHP Officer Perdeniar stated in a press conference. The informant continues, To be here now, we ask for your help.
So far, there was no information available about the baby’s cause of death or whether they were struck by passing cars on the highway.
